His Burger |
They start with special assiago cheese Kaiser Rolls from Safeway, a pair of blue cheese burger patties by Sterling Silver Premium Meats and four thick cut slices of bacon from our local Co-Op.
I sprinkle a little Kirkland Mesquite Seasoning on the patties and let them marinate for an hour or so. I cook the bacon first to get the pan ready to cook the burgers which I like cooked in the bacon grease. Cook said burgers medium rare then toast the buns a little for color and texture and assemble.
In addition to the above, Her Burger contains, a slice or two of organic kosher sandwich pickle, a couple of slices of homegrown organic Heirloom tomato, several slices of organic avocado, a slice of Alpine Lace cheese, a little organic mayo on the bottom bun and a little country style Dijon mustard on the top bun.
His Burger is a little simpler. It includes two slices of red onion and a slice of organic Pepper Jack cheese with more country style Dijon on the bottom bun and a little organic mayo on the top.
We enjoy the dinner very much and decided to share it on our food blog. The Ham Burger is an all American tradition that inspires cooks from near and far to improve it. These are latest attempts and were delicious with the Her Burger being more refined and gentile and the His Burger being a down and dirty, spicy bacon cheese burger. Let the burger wars continue as we all win..........
Good eating,
Tom and Anita
