We start off with a cup of coffee. We love hand crafted pottery so Tom's choice is the small cup that's made from a natural claylike glaze with a blue glaze on the rim and handle and he likes his coffee black. My mug is made from a Shino glaze that's fired in a Cone 10 gas kiln. I drink my coffee with half a cup of milk and half a cup of chocolate almond milk added. MMMM! It's like dessert for breakfast.
This is Mandarin Orange season in California so we're adding the Mandarins to the banana, strawberries, blueberries, chopped dates and prunes. When summertime comes we'll have peaches, plums and nectarines instead of the Mandarins.
The ingredients at the bottom of the bowl are the Greek yogurt and the organic oat flakes. The crunch of the flakes is wonderful and the Greek yogurt adds a complexity to the flavor. BTW, these bowls are also hand crafted and glazed in several colors. We buy a lot of our ceramic pottery in the small town of Harmony just south of Cambria, CA these days. They have a great collection from all over the US.
So there you have our morning breakfast ritual. We look forward to eating all these delicious flavors each morning.
Bon appetit,
Anita and Tom
